CD95966 Complete Covent Garden Ring 1978 Hi everyone Here is a Ring cycle that I don't think has been posted on OS before now. It's the 1978 complete cycle conducted by Colin Davis. Parts of this production were broadcast in the years preceding, Walkure in 1974 and Siegfried in 1975, but this was complete cycle broadcast by the BBC over five nights. It was the first complete ring cycle to be broadcast from Covent Garden since 1965 and finds most of the cast in excellent form. Included at the end is a short speech Colin Davis gave after Gotterdammerung. Some original broadcast commentary remains. Uploaded at 192kps stereo, it actually sounds really good I think.
