"Nuit du piano"
A triple-decker recital by three young pianists with a decidedly
international flavour. Yu Kosuge, born in 1983 in Japan but long-term
resident of Germany, Shani Diluka (1976), who is Monegasque of Sri
Lankan origin, and, finally, at 11 pm, the German-Japanese pianist Alice
Sara Ott (1988) who was up way past her bedtime and appeared in pink
fluffy slippers with her music in a pyjama case.
Yu Kosuge's recital was interrupted several times by a wolf note on the
piano which had to be sorted out, which is audible (though not very) in
the first two tracks.
Alice Sara's contribution (more Chopin waltzes and Liszt Studies - I do
wish she would learn something else) provoked the sort of applause you
cannot really edit out, so I left it in.
At least with the lateness of the hour the cicadas had fallen silent, or
almost so (they chirp sleepily during part of Yu Kosuge's recital).
